Today I went to the city. I had thought of checking out some portable hard drives when I got the chance coz I am chronically short of space on my lappy. So I go to this place and wonder of wonders, I get a Western Digital 160 GB portable HDD for 5.2K. Cheap, if you ask me. A month ago, I had checked on Digit magazine and the same piece was quoted at 6.4K.
And since evening, when I came back, I have been in front of my lappy, transferring my entire DVD collection into the portable. Fuck man, these cheap DVDs really rip you off. 90% of them have some problem or the other. Some are Cyclic Redundancy errors and can be attributed to scratches. Fine, they are my mistakes. But some others, they aren’t even detected by my lappy. Its like I have not inserted any disk. Am not throwing them away though. My neighbour back in coll has a swell DVD Drive which can read he most unreadable disks.
Was watching ‘Babel’. Yesterday finished ‘The Breakfast Club’ and saw ‘Premonition’ till it was halfway through. I have this really bad habit sometimes of watching movies for about an hour and then postponing it to posterity.
Learnt something yesterday. WHEN INSTALLATING PIRATED GAMES, DELETE NOTHING FROM THE SETUP. I was making a DVD of some game installations and when the DVD ran out of space, I deleted the Support Folder from the installation folder of PoP WW. All the folder had was text files in a few languages. So I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to delete them. And when I tried to install it yesterday, it says file missing and I am forced to abort installation. Hope someone back in coll has the complete installation.
‘Naruto’ just keeps getting more and more interesting. I finished watching Shippuuden and was frustrated at having to wait for a couple of more weeks to know the res of the story. Then I remembered that I had the manga version of it. Well, I missed a little bit of the story but learnt a great deal of new stuff. Man, I admire those story writers. Oh what they weave from nothing but the air! Now that I have finished the manga, ah,yes, there you are. I missed you, frustration.
