Joblessness…there you are!

Today I went to the city. I had thought of checking out some portable hard drives when I got the chance coz I am chronically short of space on my lappy. So I go to this place and wonder of wonders, I get a Western Digital 160 GB portable HDD for 5.2K. Cheap, if you ask me. A month ago, I had checked on Digit magazine and the same piece was quoted at 6.4K.

And since evening, when I came back, I have been in front of my lappy, transferring my entire DVD collection into the portable. Fuck man, these cheap DVDs really rip you off. 90% of them have some problem or the other. Some are Cyclic Redundancy errors and can be attributed to scratches. Fine, they are my mistakes. But some others, they aren’t even detected by my lappy. Its like I have not inserted any disk. Am not throwing them away though. My neighbour back in coll has a swell DVD Drive which can read he most unreadable disks.

Was watching ‘Babel’. Yesterday finished ‘The Breakfast Club’ and saw ‘Premonition’ till it was halfway through. I have this really bad habit sometimes of watching movies for about an hour and then postponing it to posterity.

Learnt something yesterday. WHEN INSTALLATING PIRATED GAMES, DELETE NOTHING FROM THE SETUP. I was making a DVD of some game installations and when the DVD ran out of space, I deleted the Support Folder from the installation folder of PoP WW. All the folder had was text files in a few languages. So I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to delete them. And when I tried to install it yesterday, it says file missing and I am forced to abort installation. Hope someone back in coll has the complete installation.

‘Naruto’ just keeps getting more and more interesting. I finished watching Shippuuden and was frustrated at having to wait for a couple of more weeks to know the res of the story. Then I remembered that I had the manga version of it. Well, I missed a little bit of the story but learnt a great deal of new stuff. Man, I admire those story writers. Oh what they weave from nothing but the air! Now that I have finished the manga, ah,yes, there you are. I missed you, frustration.

Going Public

I have decieded on something drastic. This blog is going public. Nothing much will change, except that i will post links to it in my orkut profile. Almost everyting else will remain same. So if u find some article in which i totally rape ur case (havent started this thing till now), no point crying about it. If it makes you happy, cease reading the blog. Anyways, there is no point coming to me coz once posted, nothing is changed unless it is a typo error. My tirade against humanity will continue. Continuing my efforts to make the world magical, i am, yours truly,

Do You even Exist?

Today I found out that tomorrow was Eid. Now I am a non religious person. You can even call me an atheist. I believe that at this present time, all the religions are crap. Well, maybe the religions themselves aren’t crap but the people who speak out for the religions sure are. During dinner today, my mother told me of the story of Eid, about God asking Abraham to sacrifice his son and when HE saw that Abe was willing, He became happy and asked Abe to sacrifice a goat instead. What kind of a god is that? If god created the world and everything in it, how can he not care about everything in it? How can he ask a man to sacrifice one of His own creations, that too, just to appease Him? WTF? What kind of a god would that be? If god is really so godly, he should love all his creations equally. Why then do most religions have their gods giving Man so much importance? Why is the goat always sacrificable?

We see so many sufferings and hardships in the world around us. Why then does god not help them? If god were really so great, why does he allow people to commit crimes? How can there exist people who can commit crimes against others? If god wanted so peaceful and happy a world, why do we see suffering all around us? Oh yes, now I remember. He is just testing us isn’t he? Testing us to see our faith. Nice one god. So now you are such an attention freak that you want people to have faith in you all the time or else you wont even help them? Or is it that you are punishing them for their sins? Actually, come to think of it, if you are so benevolent and compassionate and great, why would you punish anyone in the first place? You are supposed to be Godlike, not humanlike. You should not be having emotions or making people pay for their sins and stuff.

You give us rain and sunlight for our existence. Why do you then give us Tsunamis and earthquakes? To punish us? As I said before, if you really are godlike, there should be no punishment. Come to think of it, since you created man, you could have created them unable to do sins and crimes. Then there would not have been any problems. You would have created fair and just societies. People would be really equal for once. Democracy would have started from the first villages. People would have rains and sunshine as and when they needed it. There would be no doctors coz there would not have been any diseases, no accidents or anything like that.

Do you really exist god? Where? Up in space? Then why didn’t the astronauts see you when they went up there? Oh, you were far away from the earth? Why? After all, this is the earth you love so well. Why not stay close to it? Why did you allow the creation of different religions? See what the existence of too many different religions has done to this world. People kill and destroy each other in the name of religions, in your name. Do you not feel responsible? Do you not feel guilty?

Do you even exist?

Homebound

Its time…the moment that I have been waiting for a long long time. Am leaving for home tomorrow.

Went to town and got my lappy fixed (remember the keyboard-without-an-enterkey-problem?)
Finally managed to download WarCraft: Lord of the Clans by Christie Golden. Am re downloading The Sunwell Trilogy coz the first one was severely corrupted. have downloaded at least 15 GB of stuff in the past couple of days in preparation for the vacation. Will get Battle for Middle Earth 2 and its expansion tomorrow. Next post maybe a little delayed.

Of Breasts and Men.

Found this while trawling the web. Here is an excerpt. Read the entire article here.

Had all the men in Oxford gone mad overnight? The postman started it. When I opened the door, he stood there grinning like a Cheshire cat, and lingered rather longer than necessary while I signed for a package

Worse – or was it better? – was to come. In Sainsbury’s not one but two men offered to let me go ahead of them in the queue.

Another wanted to know if I needed help packing my groceries away. Another still wanted to open my car door for me in the car park.

In my local delicatessen, Gluttons, the man behind the counter smiled and nodded like an eager puppy as I bought such mundanities as olive oil and courgettes.

But it was the (male) librarian at my local library who really seemed to have lost his marbles.

Only a few days previously, he had processed my son’s books in the nursery section, and he had seemed like a perfectly normal, capable, soul.

Now, though, he was a man on the edge.

He stuttered when I asked him to show me how to use the new IT system. He flushed beetroot as I sat down.

Well, giving the woman’s condition some thought, I am forced to accept that if I were there in front of her, I would have done the same. Perverted??…no, I don’t think so. I think it is just the typical male response to female private parts. What do females do when they see a snake? Typical response would be a shriek followed by more and more shrieks and then some running. Well, I think the typical male response to huge breasts is not to shriek, but to stare. Or maybe it is because the breasts are almost all the time hidden. The more you hide something, the more others want to know about it. I dunno…an just making wierd theories.

Now forget these boobs and let us talk about ME. Me is leaving for home on the 5th. Exams are finished. Need to catch up on some sleep. And there is a project that is to be presented and it is not complete at all. And I hate winter.
